RDi
RDi Health (part of RDi) is a data‑driven healthcare kitting expert supporting safer, faster diagnosis across infection prevention, screening and diagnostics. We design, manufacture and deliver fully traceable, compliant sample collection kits and procedure packs, including blood culture collection packs for sepsis and infectious disease pathways.
We support national programmes such as the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, alongside individual NHS Trusts and private healthcare providers, hospitals and laboratories in the UK and internationally. With over 150 registered kits and devices and more than one million kits produced, we provide service design, expertise and digital platforms through RDi Evolve.
Approach to Healthcare
We address where risk, inefficiency and variation most often enter diagnostic pathways: sample collection, handling and transportation. We apply human factors and workflow design principles to develop procedure packs and sample collection solutions that are intuitive to use, standardised and compliant by default. Our scalable manufacturing and resilient supply model ensure continuity and avoid stock disruption.
Our approach combines intelligent product and pack design, deep regulatory capability, and Digital Health infrastructure through RDi Evolve. Together, this helps healthcare providers improve patient safety, reduce avoidable error, support antimicrobial stewardship and maintain consistency, oversight and confidence across infection prevention and diagnostic workflows.
Impact of Product/Services on Healthcare
RDi supports infection prevention across bloodstream infection, sepsis response and wider infectious disease pathways by improving quality at every stage of a sample’s journey. Our solutions reduce variation, minimise contamination risk and support safe, consistent practice in real clinical settings.
In a recent deployment within an acute multi-site NHS Trust, use of RDi blood culture collection packs associated with fewer contaminated samples and false positives, reduced repeat sampling and waste, faster diagnostic results. Standardised packs also save clinicians around 2-5 minutes per collection. Improved accuracy supports appropriate antibiotic use, while full traceability strengthens governance and oversight in time‑critical sepsis care.
Innovation
RDi innovates by treating infection prevention and diagnostic pathways as connected systems rather than standalone products. We design and manufacture procedurally robust kits informed by clinical practice, regulatory requirements and operational realities, focusing on safety, efficiency and standardisation. All solutions are produced and transported within UKCA, CE, UN3373 and ISO accredited frameworks to support audit readiness.
Through RDi Evolve, we extend this into digital health with platforms such as +CURA, enabling end‑to‑end, auditable sample tracing and real‑time monitoring across diagnostic workflows for patients, labs and clinicians.
This integrated physical and digital approach strengthens governance and quality assurance in high‑pressure clinical environments.
Future Direction
Increasing diagnostic demand, antimicrobial resistance pressures and increasing regulatory scrutiny across infection prevention and control mean we are focused on expanding procedurally designed, fully traceable kits across infectious disease and screening pathways, supported by deeper digital capability through RDi Evolve.
Our aim is to help healthcare organisations improve patient safety, reduce contamination‑related waste and cost, release staff time back to care, and demonstrate clear return on investment through improved outcomes, efficiency and governance. This supports infection control pathway performance, antimicrobial stewardship and wider operational efficiency targets across the health system.
