Approach to Healthcare

Peak Medical is a specialist healthcare company which takes very seriously the needs of the customers they serve, be they clinicians or patients and their carers to ensure improved outcomes in patient care. By providing innovative products and services we are confident that they are benefiting from a depth of knowledge and experience based on many years in various healthcare settings.

As a small but dedicated company, Peak Medical strives to provide innovative solutions to some of the issues affecting patients’ quality of life. Recent additions to our product portfolio have demonstrated our commitment to improving the lives of those who need and use those products. Contributing to and ensuring good healthcare is our reason for being, our ‘raison d’etre’.

Impact of Products/Services on Healthcare:

Peak Medical strives to ensure that our products and services make a huge positive impact on patients’ lives which is why recent additions to our product portfolio are being well accepted by clinicians and their patients who see these benefits as a positive step towards an improved quality of life.

Haemodialysis and other conditions necessitating the need for a central venous catheter line can now benefit from Cath Dry, a sterile dressing to protect and keep the catheter entry point dry and free from infection, while enabling patients to lead a normal, active lifestyle, swimming, bathing and showering. Invented and developed by an experienced Nephrologist, Cath Dry is a much needed, and cost saving dressing.

Urinary tract infections and blockages associated with indwelling urethral or suprapubic catheters, can be significantly reduced or prevented when UroShield is applied.
UroShield is an innovative device which emits short wave ultrasound along the exterior and interior lumen of the catheter to prevent the formation of biofilm, preventing the adherence and build-up of bacteria and subsequent infections, CAUTIs.

A significant reduction in NHS costs associated with nursing time needed for frequent catheter changes, hospitalisation and antibiotic therapy (intravenous or oral) are all positive outcomes for patients, their families, clinicians and the wider NHS.

Innovation

In Peak Medical we believe that innovation is demonstrated by improvements and additions to both existing and newly available product lines which can improve patient outcomes while enhancing the quality of life of many patients in both acute and community settings.

It is for this reason that we knew that Cath Dry and UroShield which are both recent innovative additions to our product portfolio, had the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of patients and their carers and families.

UroShield, while making demonstrable NHS savings, is reducing and preventing the occurrence of CAUTIs, in those with indwelling urethral and suprapubic catheters while Cath Dry is making a big difference to the lives of those undergoing haemodialysis and others with a central venous catheter line.

Future Direction

We are a small but highly motivated and dedicated Team with many years of healthcare experience between us in both the NHS and industry, and our mission is to continue promoting and developing innovative products and services to those who can benefit most.
