Our mission is to keep people safer, places cleaner, and kindly reinforces positive behaviour in what we all know we should be doing in a good hand wash– to make a difference in breaking the infection cycle.
We make tools that allow our customers to save time, money, and infection spread, to get results, improve standards and save lives through infection control.
Everyone knows how to wash their hands, and the importance it carries in breaking the infection cycle, but time, facilities and behavioural shortfalls mean it doesn’t always happen as well as it should – even after the pandemic!

Handicheck & Handisoap is our patented solution that shows you how effectively hands are washed every time.
Developed and manufactured in the UK by The Hannlie Company using our microbiological and engineering expertise, our back-to-basics approach and technical problem-solving skills led us to bring to market by popular demand, our unique soap based, sink-side system.
The system works as ‘the disclosing tablet’ for hands, where ‘disclosing tablets’ for teeth show the areas missed in cleaning and require focus, the Handisoap discloses the areas missed in hand wash. You’d think it had been done but it hasn’t – so we have.
Our equipment and designs not only allow hand wash training and checking to be carried out with soap, by the sink, but provide a portable solution – that also address the challenge of how to achieve verification of hand washing techniques and validation of standards on and individual basis and for audit.
We work with hospitals, care homes, food and domestic settings – anywhere where infection control, monitoring and education is critical.
Our carbon footprint is low due to our UK manufacturing base. We value our choice of sustainable manufacturing and we actively support manufacturing in the UK.

The Hannlie Company is passionate about hand washing making a big difference in infection control – when done properly.
We are active in providing hand wash training tools for individuals, companies, charities and infection protection and control professionals and in any setting where hand washing is important to prevent infection spread.
The Handicheck system works because we created it to solve challenges we have experienced ourselves and we want to make a difference to our world with the skills we have gained throughout our careers.
Clean hands are safe hands so improving hand washing techniques every time is a powerful infection control measure. Ensuring hand washing is effective and repeatable to support good hygiene standards is critical but it is a challenge. Why don’t people do it thoroughly every time and how can we improve this? We use our expertise to create Handicheck & Handisoap and address this challenge.
The Handicheck system encourages the user to be sure each time by visual cues from fluorescence, highlighting areas of hands that have not been washed. When all the fluorescence has gone you know your hands are clean.

Coverage of the hands and attention to detail in all areas of the hand washed is essential for soaps and sanitisers to work and remove microorganism – the most effective microorganism removal method – soap, water and friction. Attention to detail is key.

Handicheck can be used as a training tool, an audit verification step, and a validation of standards of the key hand washing infection control process to solve the problem of how to train and audit this basic hygiene step.
