Infection Prevention Society


The Infection Prevention Society is an independent charity with a 2,000 strong member network. Our vision is to be a leading influence on IPC Practice at a local, national and international level be 2024. We strive to fulfil our vision by informing, promoting and sustaining evidence-based infection prevention policy and practice to create a health and care system where no person’s health and wellbeing is harmed by a preventable infection. Our commitment to communicate with and educate clinical professionals and the public enables us to play a central role in making treatment and care safer for patients and their relatives.

How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?
We are an independent charity with over 2000 members working in IPC across a wide range of settings including NHS and private hospitals, community and mental health services and care homes.

Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the Infection Prevention & Control Conference?
We welcome new members. If you are interested in IPC you can join as an associate member and if you are working in an IPC role in a health or social care setting you can apply as a full member. Please see our website for more information about how to apply

What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with your organisation?
Our society provides educational events, a large annual conference and resources for disseminating expert knowledge and supporting professional practice for IPC practitioners. IPS also provides a forum for networking with others who have an interest in or are working in IPC through our network of branches and special interest groups.
