Evotech Air Quality a specialist division of Evotech, a national building performance company is helping customers create safer working environments and improve confidence in returning to the workplace. We help customers create healthier and safer indoor environments by monitoring and transforming their indoor air quality.
Our specialists use data from wireless air quality monitoring sensors in a building, to improve air quality when required, by fine-tuning building environmental management systems and mechanical ventilation units, and through the use of the latest filtration and sterilisation technology.
How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?
We work for a wide range of customers throughout the country within the commercial, industrial, retail, education, public sector and healthcare sectors. Many of our customers up and down the country are now utilising air quality monitoring sensors throughout their buildings to help control indoor air pollution and lower the risk of virus transmission. In some cases, we have been able to integrate the data into building management systems, to make buildings more efficient and lower their carbon footprint.
Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the Infection Prevention & Control Conference?
You have strict cleaning regimes when it comes to sanitising surfaces and sterilising instruments, but have you thought about the air that healthcare professionals, patients and visitors breathe? Air pollutants can transport bacteria and viruses and recent research has established that a small increase in air pollution leads to a large increase in the COVID-19 infectivity and mortality rate in England. By monitoring indoor air quality, you can see what’s in the air and increase ventilation accordingly and / or use air purification units to clean the air of pollutants, bacteria and viruses. When you can see what’s in the air you breathe you are able to make improvements and help keep people safe in your indoor spaces.
What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with your organisation?
Evotech Air Quality uses the award winning Airthings indoor air quality sensors and Airly hyper-local outdoor AQ sensors to monitor the quality of the air building occupants breathe. Using this data, we are able to improve indoor air quality by adjusting mechanical ventilation systems or through the use of the latest filtration and sterilisation technology. Some areas, especially old buildings, in your estate may not have a mechanical ventilation system and even if AC units are installed most of these recirculate air and do not add fresh air to the mix. Monitoring indoor air quality can put you in control of the air building occupants breathe on a daily basis so you know when you need to increase ventilation and can, where modern ventilation systems are in use, help reduce running costs and reduce carbon emissions.
Do you want to add any other key points?
