CW Applied Technology

CW Applied Technology located in Co. Clare has deployed its advanced product design and manufacturing facilities to scale up the manufacture of its innovative, portable UV-C Room Sterilizer – The MUV-X.

CW Applied Technology currently works with and supplies the Medical Devices and Automotive industries with cutting edge and collaborative product design and manufacture.

It has partnered with an established US manufacturer to re-engineer this portable UV-C Room Sterilizer. “The Portable UV-C Sterilizer, the Muv-X, started from a request from a surgeon in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, led on to a conversation with a partner company in the US where we realized that by re-engineering established proven technology we could offer this low cost and portable/mobile alternative to the businesses and medical facilities anxious to ensure they will operate in a safe manner as restrictions are eased but the Covid19 virus remains active” explained John O’Connell Managing Director of CW Applied Technology.

How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?
This product, the Muv-X, has been sold exclusively in Ireland and the USA up until this point. We have 65 customers in total, ranging from medical clinics, consultants rooms, cancer care facilities, nursing/care homes to hotels, schools, sports clubs etc.

Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the Infection Prevention & Control Conference?
We have had independent laboratory testing done on the Muv-X in relation to its capability to inactivate SARS-Cov2 and also its ability to kill CPE. The results are impressive!

What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with your organisation?
We are a collaborative organisation. If there’s something a customer wants changed on a product, we can usually make that happen. We can move from the standard product to a bespoke model with relative ease depending on the changes required. the CW in our name stands for Collaborate to Win and that’s what we aim to achieve in each customer arrangement.

Do you want to add any other key points?
The key benefits of most UV-C Room sterilisers are well know…
• Hospital-grade sanitising technology.
• Inactivates viruses and kills bacteria, fungi and mould.
• No chemicals – therefore there’s no residue left after sanitising, it’s safe for people to enter the room
straight after it’s been used, and it’s eco-friendly.
• Provides reassurance for anyone entering your premises that you’re consistently completing a sterilising

Maybe more unusual in the case of the Muv-X, it is also..

• Flexible and mobile: easily wheeled from room to room.
• Surprisingly low cost to own and therefore offers Full control at an affordable price: by owning the device
you can sanitize any room you need at any time you need.
• Easy to use: only minimal training required and no need for ‘gowning up’.
